2/26 Missing elderly lady, Oregon City
On Friday evening, February 26th, PNW was activated for a search in Oregon City for an elderly lady suffering from dementia. 11 PNW members were deployed in a variety of missions, including members of the rope support team, the mountain bike team, and teams who went door to door in the area the subject was last seen in.
While searching a steep wooded area late into the night, the rope team used a FLIR unit provided by the Sheriff's Office. The ground teams were teamed up in part with members of NORSAR who had done extensive area work already along with the other canine teams from Search One. Mountain Wave Communications provided road coverage and excellent communications support with their 4x4 teams and communications vehicles.
The weather cooperated for the teams in the field, but no resolution has been forthcoming as of this time. PNW will be returning to the search at 0700.
